About Design Laser Play

Design Laser Play is a laser studio with a multi-disciplinary mindset based in Liverpool. Design focused, the studio specialises in custom laser cutting, design, creative thinking and making. We work closely with our clients to create and form structure and realisation of their ideas.

Founded by graphic artist/designer Simon Armstrong, Design Laser Play as a studio is flexible, adventurous and cooperative; Simon has over 10 years experience applying laser technology to expand his and others creative practice to produce work that sits across a variety of platforms.

We engage in collaboration through different disciplines, which allows the studio to further the exploration possibilities of laser cutting technology, and materials know how. Our playful and inquisitive approach develops our original ways of making which influences and enhances our creative output, delivering appropriate effective solutions for our clients.

We work with designers, illustrators, makers, architects, artists, creative agencies, brands, and individuals.

Our laser service offers a reasonably priced opportunity to support anyone who wishes to take advantage of laser technology and help them to make what they have always wanted to make. We can produce one offs, short run capabilities or mass production. We offer the chance to try out and explore innovative ways of making.

You can send us your own design files, which after we’ve checked them over, the studio can provide you with options on materials (unless you’re supplying your own), a suitable time frame for cutting/engraving and a quote.

Design Laser Play are good at doing the creative side of things too. Working closely with you, whether you are a student, a one-person business run from home or an established brand, we progress client’s ideas to craft an original response to the set brief. Using your initial ideas/sketches/photographs, we can develop and create unique designs for you.
